The water reservoir in Rochester, MA is commonly called the ‘Waterworks’ by the locals. I’ve spent many afternoons after high school walking it’s paved and unpaved paths, out to the pump house in the middle of the lake and back. I’ve been kick out by the police for shooting star trails after dark, and brought my girlfriend here on our first date. This place means a lot to me and I have a good amount of memories associated with it. It holds the typical New England representation of the seasons really well. It carries some of the prettiest foliage in the fall and the evergreen trees really shine through in the winter months.
